Group Blog

 Hey there viewer, this is my group blog where I talk about me and group that are going to work on our Media Studies commercial project! To start off, my name is Andy Hernandez and I'm a Sophomore, working with two of my friends who I had recently met this school year. For this project, I hope to work as the editor for the group since I want to see what editing skills I can come up with. These guys were my first buddies that I made friends with when I came to the school and so I decided to work with them for this project.

My first mate is Maximus, he is Sophomore like me. I had first talked to him in this class actually, when we were waiting outside, I had come up to him saying "Hey I think I remember you from online class". I talk about how we both had Global Perspectives class last year and so we decided to chill in class together when we got in. After that encounter, we just instantly became buddies. We would have fun in study hall by playing some cards or online games when we have the chance. We also go to lunch to sit with our friend group and always try to beat Geometry Dash levels.

The Second mate in the group is Jibril, who is also a Sophomore like us. After a 5-day weekend when we had school off, I had came back to school and was at lunch when all of a sudden, Maximus comes up with a person, that being Jibril. He had told me that Jibril had recently join our class and was sitting next to us. I had then introduced myself and so did he. We had also become friends, He would come and join us to eat lunch, and would also make some funny jokes when we were in Media Studies. I actually know Jibril's interest, he likes to play Valorant and also plays some Minecraft.

Since Jibril had joined us when we were working on a Media Studies terms, we had added him to our group and us three had done our assignment together. Since we all needed to finish at home, we made a group chat to text each other. Now, in present time, Maximus had wanted to work with us for the new project, and now, us three are planning to work with each other on this commercial project for Media Studies. We are currently thinking about what we want to advertise and what jobs each person will do for the project.

Commercial SET!!!

Well, I’ve done it, I’ve finally finished the commercial, along with the help of my group mates.   This was  my first project where I could be creative in my editing skills, adding lots of effects to a commercial.  It took a good chunk of time  and was a bit difficult   to get the scenes and edit the  commercial well enough to be called a commercial. I had fun recording all the scenes my group done, laughing at each mistake we did from each take. I really like how the commercial came out, It looks almost exactly as like me and the other's had thought of making. The hardest part of this project was angling the camera to best put the scene in a good view and also the barrage of people in the background doing their own scenes as well. Editing-wise, it took a good amount of work to make it the most time necessary for the length and I was also able to learn new things like fading in pictures during a video clip. Editing the first sections!

 Previously, I was able to produce some scenes necessary for the film alone due to my group being unavailable at the time. With the help of my sister, we were able to produce scenes that included the protagonist alone and also scenes that required editing processes. While driving back home after the recordings, I was constantly thinking as to how I would edit each scene, what needed to be modified and what effects would need to be added. As we got home, I jumped off my sister's car and quickly went to my room to retrieve the scenes onto my laptop and search for editing effects required to make the sequence pop out. The main source I used to find some edits that would help this sequence was in YouTube. The first thing I was looking for were some fire effects that could be used for a type of explosion. Time to work, at a Fair????

  It was now the time for me and the others in my group to film the scenes for the music video. Although, there was a tiny problem during this time, Thanksgiving break. Because of Thanksgiving break, it would mean that most of my group and I won't be able to interact with each other and means that filming would have to be done separately for a bit of time. I had thought of a scene which included me going on a Ferris Wheel because of my schedule to go to the Broward County Fair this break. Max was able to go to the fair with me and take all the filming scenes needed. The first scene that was filmed at the fair was the beginning of the entrance to the fair. It was somewhat of a pan shot/side shot in which I was facing the entrance to the big fair. The first take was messed up due to the lighting of the background being too dark but was then later fixed.
