Revision Time!

Image
After finishing the raw editing of the film, I had let the others in the group know that I was done with the raw sequence, letting them decide on what should be next in the to-do list. They were taking quite awhile to decide on what to do, having to need an extra day to think on what would be next on tweaking. Finally, after that long time, I and the rest of the group have decided that the sequence would have to follow the backup plan in order to create a better title sequence. The backup plan meant that more recording would need to be done and new scenes will have to be produced to better fit the title sequence. As much as I and some of the others didn't want to re-record, we all agreed on making up the scenes and meeting up. It would be awhile before we could all meetup and record the extra scenes, with school keeping most of us busy. Based on what I saw filmed in the rough draft, most of the beginning scenes would have to be make-up as well as some of the ending scene. Once we

Finalizing the Editing

Finally, every scene has been finally produced and film, now all that's left to do is to edit and put them all together. I would be quite some time until I would continue to edit the rest of the sequence, but after resting for awhile, I finally started to work on the sequence again. The last time I worked on the editing of the sequence, I only edited the scenes that were produced with only me in the scenes/the scenes that were easy to film without the whole group. Now that all the scenes have been filmed however, I will now be able to finish this sequence up. I started by importing all the remaining scenes missing into the editor to put them all together. This actually took a long time to do due to the great amount of clips added to the editor, lasting about an hour. Once imported, I immediately started to place them chronologically, putting each clip in their specific spot of the sequence. Once that was done and set, I moved on to the beginning fighting scenes and added the specif

Continuing the filming process!

It’s been awhile since I’ve done any modifications on the sequence with me being busy with school and all that. It’s been a long time since I’ve done any work so I decided to discuss with my group on what we should do next moving forward. I and the others knew that we would have to get at least one of these days to film together, so we made a plan and set a date to meet and film. After figuring out each person’s availability, I and the others decided on the upcoming Thursday to film together a major chunk of the scenes. Once Thursday arrived, we all met in an area of a plaza that had the perfect visual of an alley way for the sequence. To begin, I first had the idea of finishing up the beginning scenes that were missing due to just me being apart of the recording. Since Jibril was to be the enemy in this scene, he and I were going to be in the scene while Maximus is to record us. The first scenes me and Jibril filmed were the meeting, in which his character would be discovered by mine

Editing the first sections!

Previously, I was able to produce some scenes necessary for the film alone due to my group being unavailable at the time. With the help of my sister, we were able to produce scenes that included the protagonist alone and also scenes that required editing processes. While driving back home after the recordings, I was constantly thinking as to how I would edit each scene, what needed to be modified and what effects would need to be added. As we got home, I jumped off my sister's car and quickly went to my room to retrieve the scenes onto my laptop and search for editing effects required to make the sequence pop out. The main source I used to find some edits that would help this sequence was in YouTube. The first thing I was looking for were some fire effects that could be used for a type of explosion. There were a lot of many cool and interesting background effect fires but the one I liked the most had to be from the YouTube Channel Channel Art Background. The fire effect in this cl

Time to starting filming!

As I finish researching the music and sound tracks that'll be used for the sequence, I think to myself "dang, it's really almost time to start the filming process.." The next day after my research, I discuss to my groupmates what the plan would be to starting filming the scenes. They all seemed to be busy and unavailable to record at this period of time, so I decided to make a plan that could start the sequence. I decided that, since I'm part of the lead role, that I would record the scenes I needed where I would appear. Since it'll just be me, most of these scenes would either be me alone in them or I would call on the aid of any other friends or family that could help me. Everyone in the group agreed with my plan and so it was decided that I would start to film the scenes the next day. That time had finally arrived, I had asked my sister to drive me to the spot of the ally, where the beginning scenes would take place. To record these scenes, I was able to a

Finding music for the sequence!

Image
What a long and great process of work it has been to get to this point. Me and my group have decided on the scenes we're going to create and also all the lines for scenes. We're about 90% ready to film, however, there is still the need in finding the music and sounds that have to be used for the sequence. The reason to have these sound effects and music tracks is for the film to pop-out more and create great sounds to portray the film. In order to use these music and audio tracks in our film, it is important to make sure each and every sound is free use for us and has no copyright. While looking for sounds and music, it is important that they contain free use so that anyone is allowed to freely use the music/sound of the media, if not, it could cause great trouble. The first plan of action for me was to look upon YouTube and look for non-copyright music of intensity. The need for this track is to create an extreme tones through the scene where the music is played. I was able to

I guess I could rub some time off by walking.   Protag’s friend: Hey ‘Andy’! Is that really you?!   Protagonist (voiceover): oh jeez, there’s only 1 person in the world with a voice like that eh..   Scene 21   Diegetic sound: upbeat music plays   Protag’s Friend: it’s been awhile, I haven’t seen you in ages!   Protagonist (voiceover): of course it had to be my old friend to be here right now.
