It is now the start of the End!

Hello! I’m Andy Hernandez, and in this blog, I will introduce myself to you all for the beginning of this final task! For this final task, the project is based on the beginning of a film that I and a group will have to produce.


To start off, My interest are exercising, playing video games, and spending time with my family. I am a Sophomore this school year at Fort Lauderdale and also a middle child of my family. I have two sisters, the first is my younger sibling who has recently started going to my old elementary school. My second sister, who graduated from this school, Madelinne, has started her first year in college this year! I love both of them. I also tend to watch a good amount of shows but I mostly watch Anime. Currently, I am binge watching both Bleach and One Piece, both are pretty amazing shows and I recommend to watch them. Currently in school, I've made a great amount of friends and some more. My grades are decent but aren't bad and my favorite subject would be Comm. Tech II since I'm still learning about Premiere Pro this year while my least favorite would have to be chemistry since I am very bad at science. I am in the Cambridge magnet program so I have to work hard in each of my AICE classes in order to receive the necessary points needed to get my AICE diploma by my senior year. I currently have 3 AICE points and also have 13 credits for my high school diploma. This will be my second project using this program to take notes on my experience. The blogs that I will be posting on here will mostly be related to work done on the final task that I will edit along with others. My goal for this class is to better understand how films and shows create great effects that viewers become impacted by. I've done many edits for photos, videos, and more for related projects such as commercial projects. For this project, me and my groupmates will have to come up with a beginning sequence of a film with a genre. The film will have to consist of many conventions and follow through the specific genre picked. As of right now, my group are coming up with what genre we would like to do our beginning sequence.

Commercial SET!!!

Well, I’ve done it, I’ve finally finished the commercial, along with the help of my group mates.   This was  my first project where I could be creative in my editing skills, adding lots of effects to a commercial.  It took a good chunk of time  and was a bit difficult   to get the scenes and edit the  commercial well enough to be called a commercial. I had fun recording all the scenes my group done, laughing at each mistake we did from each take. I really like how the commercial came out, It looks almost exactly as like me and the other's had thought of making. The hardest part of this project was angling the camera to best put the scene in a good view and also the barrage of people in the background doing their own scenes as well. Editing-wise, it took a good amount of work to make it the most time necessary for the length and I was also able to learn new things like fading in pictures during a video clip. Editing the first sections!

 Previously, I was able to produce some scenes necessary for the film alone due to my group being unavailable at the time. With the help of my sister, we were able to produce scenes that included the protagonist alone and also scenes that required editing processes. While driving back home after the recordings, I was constantly thinking as to how I would edit each scene, what needed to be modified and what effects would need to be added. As we got home, I jumped off my sister's car and quickly went to my room to retrieve the scenes onto my laptop and search for editing effects required to make the sequence pop out. The main source I used to find some edits that would help this sequence was in YouTube. The first thing I was looking for were some fire effects that could be used for a type of explosion. Time to work, at a Fair????

  It was now the time for me and the others in my group to film the scenes for the music video. Although, there was a tiny problem during this time, Thanksgiving break. Because of Thanksgiving break, it would mean that most of my group and I won't be able to interact with each other and means that filming would have to be done separately for a bit of time. I had thought of a scene which included me going on a Ferris Wheel because of my schedule to go to the Broward County Fair this break. Max was able to go to the fair with me and take all the filming scenes needed. The first scene that was filmed at the fair was the beginning of the entrance to the fair. It was somewhat of a pan shot/side shot in which I was facing the entrance to the big fair. The first take was messed up due to the lighting of the background being too dark but was then later fixed.
