Filming Blog: Reviewing and Redos




October 4th, this was our second day that my group was able to film. Last time, we were able to get pretty much all the scenes necessary, so this time I had planned to review them with the others and see what we needed to fix. While reviewing, I was also thinking about the effects the others had thought of and how I could implement them when editing.

For the first scene, it had looked pretty short and quick with just Max running. I had told the others that we should redo the scene with a tilt from the sun to show the heat of the weather to below where the track is and where max is running. I was able to film the scene well after 3 takes and the others agreed to keep it.

For the second scene, I looks a bit long and so I had a plan to cut to a specific point where Max, in the scene, would look natural when going to go get hydrated. They had also agree that there should be a shorter time. For the edits, we thought of adding a poison effect from Minecraft when Max drinks the water. The edit is suppose to show how the Dasani water was so horrendous that Max instantly spits it out.

The third scene, where the Dasani was thrown to the garbage, was good enough to keep and so we kept it. For the edits, there is a bit of voices in the background, so I will have to edit the scene to make the voices not be heard at all or not loud at least.

The next scene with the "God scene" is fine, however there wasn't any type of transition to it. I didn't want it to look like a cut instantly so I told Max to act a different scene where we could make a transition. It took a good amount of attempts to get it right, but I was able to get it after about 6 tries. We plan to keep the fourth scene the way it is and add effects to it when editing.

The last scene was the best one from all the scenes, so we didn't do any changes to it. In this scene, I plan to add the Zephyrhills logo to fade in when editing.

After all the redos done, the rest of the group and I decided to see all the scenes we had. We had all agree that they're good and then decided to go back to class.

Commercial SET!!!

Well, I’ve done it, I’ve finally finished the commercial, along with the help of my group mates.   This was  my first project where I could be creative in my editing skills, adding lots of effects to a commercial.  It took a good chunk of time  and was a bit difficult   to get the scenes and edit the  commercial well enough to be called a commercial. I had fun recording all the scenes my group done, laughing at each mistake we did from each take. I really like how the commercial came out, It looks almost exactly as like me and the other's had thought of making. The hardest part of this project was angling the camera to best put the scene in a good view and also the barrage of people in the background doing their own scenes as well. Editing the first sections!

 Previously, I was able to produce some scenes necessary for the film alone due to my group being unavailable at the time. With the help of my sister, we were able to produce scenes that included the protagonist alone and also scenes that required editing processes. While driving back home after the recordings, I was constantly thinking as to how I would edit each scene, what needed to be modified and what effects would need to be added. As we got home, I jumped off my sister's car and quickly went to my room to retrieve the scenes onto my laptop and search for editing effects required to make the sequence pop out. The main source I used to find some edits that would help this sequence was in YouTube. The first thing I was looking for were some fire effects that could be used for a type of explosion. Time to work, at a Fair????

  It was now the time for me and the others in my group to film the scenes for the music video. Although, there was a tiny problem during this time, Thanksgiving break. Because of Thanksgiving break, it would mean that most of my group and I won't be able to interact with each other and means that filming would have to be done separately for a bit of time. I had thought of a scene which included me going on a Ferris Wheel because of my schedule to go to the Broward County Fair this break. Max was able to go to the fair with me and take all the filming scenes needed. The first scene that was filmed at the fair was the beginning of the entrance to the fair. It was somewhat of a pan shot/side shot in which I was facing the entrance to the big fair. The first take was messed up due to the lighting of the background being too dark but was then later fixed.
