The Sequence

Finally, after this long journey we have finished our final task. Click down below to watch the masterpiece we made!

The Royalty Music We Missed Out On

Image
We applied to all of the production companies for the thumbs up on being able to use their music. We got denied by all the companies we asked. After getting declined we decided to go with royalty free music. We wanted to choose music that had a dark feeling but also had a mid pace. After searching for about 30 minutes me and Jibril found 2 samples that we thought were perfect. We download the songs and shared them with Max on the google drive. He listened to them and thought they were greatly paced and perfect for our video. Considering we had everything else done for the video we were basically finished by now. All we had to do was add the music. But before we added it we had to choose which one of the 2 we would use. Both of the music tracks were dark and greatly paced. We ended up choosing one over the other because it was longer and it would fit our whole video. Me and Jibril told Max which one we chose. He also thought this one was better. The final decision was settled. We adde

Final Draft Review

After the video editor took that long time to finish exporting, I immediately saved everything on my computer and went to sleep. The next day, I woke up and notified the group about the last draft of the film being complete. I was so tired of editing the film all night that I sleep throughout the whole day and woke up around the afternoon. I woke up to find that my group had messaged me their reaction to the film being completed. Maximus had then told us about making a review on the final draft so that I and the others will be able to compare how much has changed from the rough draft. I agreed with that plan and decided to let the other 2 take notes as to what they liked about the new changes and what they saw in total. I also decided to take notes on my editing process and what I liked about the new change. What I liked about the the new change was the beginning scenes, these scenes were able to appreciate the title sequence rather than the previous first scenes. Different ways of po

Now that the make-up scenes are finally settled, I can start to re-edit the sequence and finish up the rest of the edits that need tweaking. After doing the make-up scenes, I returned home and immediately got on my laptop to import the scenes. The tiny problem with this was that Maximus, my groupmate, still had some of the scenes that were necessary for the editing process. I asked him through Instagram to send the clips quickly, and after awhile, he sent them and I was able to import them into the laptop and then into the editor. Since the size of each clip was quite bigger than the previous clips, it took about 45 minutes to import these scenes into the editor, wasting quite a lot of my time considering it was late and I still had school the next day. Once I got the scenes into the editor, I started to place them in the same spot that they would be in from the original scene that it will replace. I left the new scenes on a new track above the original spots and then started to remov

Wrapping up the make-up

The time is ticking, and I and the rest of the group are still to make-up the remaining scenes necessary to fix the sequence. Previously, filming wasn't finished due to Maximus needing to leave early, leaving us no time to finish the scenes necessary; so now, I wait to see what day he would be available. The next day, after recording the make-up scenes, Maximus was able to provide another date that he would be available, and I along with the others were all able to be ready that day. Once the time came, I had prepared an hour early just incase any props were missing, and then, I left to meetup at the location of the next set. The location this time would be at a park nearby that would help create the environment necessary in order to produce the scenes. Since I had to bring most of the props with me, I was the last person to arrive to the location. In the scenes that were left, all of us would have to be in the shot, meaning that the camera would have to be positioned or held by so

Revision Time!

After finishing the raw editing of the film, I had let the others in the group know that I was done with the raw sequence, letting them decide on what should be next in the to-do list. They were taking quite awhile to decide on what to do, having to need an extra day to think on what would be next on tweaking. Finally, after that long time, I and the rest of the group have decided that the sequence would have to follow the backup plan in order to create a better title sequence. The backup plan meant that more recording would need to be done and new scenes will have to be produced to better fit the title sequence. As much as I and some of the others didn't want to re-record, we all agreed on making up the scenes and meeting up. It would be awhile before we could all meetup and record the extra scenes, with school keeping most of us busy. Based on what I saw filmed in the rough draft, most of the beginning scenes would have to be make-up as well as some of the ending scene. Once we
